Happy Birthday Mom 90 years old today

Happy Birthday Mom

Photo 2010
Debbie and Beth made it home yesterday after a very long day of traveling. I arrived back at the house a half hour before after a great New Years day ride. The temperature was 20 degrees with no wind. The Hamilton Creek trails were the best so far. Really enjoyed the ride.

The four of us had a great dinner of corn beef, cabbage, hoppin John, potatoes and awesome conversations over a variety of subjects. My mother has had a great life (as we all have had) and despite the fact that we are not quite the Cleaver family we did quite well and all still love each other.

We all wished that Dad, Ed and Sandy were still with us and we shared many stories about them as we sat together after dinner. Hopefully we can finish 2018 with all members of the cast.

My stupid Garmin Edge 1000 stopped recording 2 miles into the ride. Luckily, I had Strava running on the phone.

Rahn had instructed me on a great app called Galileo before I left Ithaca:
Galileo

I was able to download the gpx file for the trails from. MTB Project:
Hamilton Creek

Once I had the gpx file I needed to convert to a kml  file using Gpx2kml.com
Gpx2kml.com

I sent the file to my gmail account and accessed the file via my phone and was able to view the trails in Galileo and my position. Strava had most of the trails as well because of all the segments people posted.

This is the longest ride so far this year. First ride of 2018

That is all I have right now. I will post soon to discuss my current and long term plans for the year.

Enjoy yourself and the ones you love.
