Happy New Year 2018

Happy New Year 2018
Good morning and Happy New Year.
Above is a photo of the Percy Warner Park Trail map taken yesterday, the last day of 2017. I rode about 3 miles in 20 degree weather just to say I rode. The trails were easy, smooth and had good traction except for one stupid rock. I didn't make it through an uphill switch back so I went to walk back down and try the turn again. Stepped onto a large flat exposed rock that tilted down the trail. Wham! Right down onto my right butt and side. Still hurts this morning. And yes, I did make it around the switch back after several attempts. The trick was to get out of the seat, one gear harder than I was using sitting. This allowed me to make a tighter turn and ride over the little bump that was knocking me off the bike when sitting.

Below are a  list of guys on YouTube who have inspired  me to go on this trip:
Seth's Bike Hacks
The Single Track Sampler

Skills With Phil

I am on day five and currently staying at my sister's house in Nashville with my mother who is turning 90 years old tomorrow. Debbie and Beth return today. I expect we will celebrate Millie's birthday tomorrow and I will be back on the road Wednesday.

The plan is to head south to warmer temperatures. I was hoping to ride some places close to Nashville for a few days but the weather is not cooperating!

This afternoon I plan to try:
Hamilton Creek

Hopefully I will get more than 3 miles in! I want to spend time with my Mom so being out on the trails all day is not in the cards. Also, it is 8 degrees outside so not really into freezing! Once it is above 20 degrees I don't mind riding.

That is all for now. Hope everyone has a great day today and a fantastic 2018.

Cheers!

Enjoy the ride. Have heard Arkansas is suppose to be good and there is good riding in Georgia and NC. Happy New Year!
